Moving produces more than its fair share of annoyances and troubles. But it does have its fun moments. Like the simple joy of hurling stuff off a balcony, in preparation for bagging it up to take to some charitable institution.
I am always astounded at the amount of junk that collects in houses over time. And I actually do try to run a pretty lean household!
My friend and former ARCO colleague Bart Brewer said it best many years ago: you should move once a decade, whether you need to or not, just to get rid of stuff you don’t really need. A philosophy which Bart was quick to point out applied to companies and their employees just as much as households :).
